Today I finally mustered up the courage to stand in front of the camera with trembling hands. For the first time in my 82 years of life, I spoke in front of the lens: “Hi, I’m 82 years old.” My grandchildren asked me why their grandmother started doing this, but I knew, I wanted to show them that even at our age, we can do a lot.

At first, I didn’t even know how to take a video, so I learned from my grandson. I practiced with my smartphone, my hands were shaking and the screen was shaky, but I didn’t give up and practiced a little bit every day. Editing was harder, but I learned from YouTube and got the hang of it.

Now, six months later, my channel has over 50,000 subscribers, and my comments are full of people saying, “You gave me courage,” and other seniors like me saying, “I want to try it.

I never imagined that a small challenge with shaky hands could inspire so many people, and today, as I prepare for a new video, I think about that. It’s never too late to try.”
